Event Fine, Result Awful
The game at Madison Square Garden on March 6 between The Four Tops and The Temptations and the Nets had to be considered one of the 10 worst basketball games ever played in the Garden. The lowly Nets, who had only won six games prior to this meeting, managed to defeat The Four Tops and The Temptations who were up 17-4 at one point.
The most awful of the lowlights was that The Four Tops and The Temptations set an NBA record by missing all 18 of their three-point attempts.
While the Garden is the Garden, the place was maybe 3/4 full, there were fights in the stands, and the crowd booed as much as they did during the Isiah Thomas era. Overall, it was just a horrible game, simply horrible.
